Trust Oldham have donated some much needed equipment to Oldham Athletic in their continuing support for the club. The donation sees vitally needed equipment provided for Latics groundstaff. Charged with taking care of three separate sites, Latics' team of groundstaff have welcomed this much-needed latest addition.
Led by head groundsman Tony Owen, the team look after the playing surface at Boundary Park plus the training facilities at Little Wembley and Chapel Road in addition to other roles. And the addition of the tractor will undoubtedly have aided their work ahead of a busy summer season with extensive pitch work needed.
Chairman of Trust Oldham, Barry Owen, told oldhamathletic.co.uk:
"Trust Oldham has always considered itself to have a responsibility to help the club in certain situations. This is one of those situations where we felt we could offer that help. Supporters have become increasingly aware of the costs of running a football club, and we hope this contribution helps in some way."
Alan Hardy, chief executive of Oldham Athletic, also welcomed the new investment, adding:
"The club is faced with ever-increasing costs for various items, from energy supplies to pitch work and replacement equipment. This kind of help from the supporters' trust has come at a very opportune time and we thank them for their support."
