Trust Oldham - Keep the Faith

    A WELCOME FROM THE CHAIRMAN

"This year is an important year not only for the club but for each fan, we all have a part to play ensuring the club turn the corner and move forward. Your voice is not only needed on the terraces, fans suggestions are imperative for the future projects of the club and your support is more valuable than ever."

First of all welcome to the NEW Trust Oldham Website. We hope that you find this new site easy to use, informative and something of interest. The Trust over the last 2 years hasn’t been anywhere near as visible as we would have like and that is down to a number of reasons which we now have rectified and continually working hard to change.

Trust Oldham has never been dormant like some may believe; I along with all the other directors have been working on projects to help Oldham Athletic Football Club in many capacities and projects that the owners and club officials are thankful of.

Exciting times are afoot with Oldham Athletic. Fans opinions at present are varied regarding the proposed stadium relocation, although each one of us recognise that our home of the last 100 years is old and crumbling.

For the club to survive, a modern new home is needed to take Oldham Athletic to the next level. I like many fans would love to stay at Boundary Park. Unfortunately with the economic climate how it is, the need for the club to push forward and become more self reliant on day to day operating revenue, the need for a new stadium and relocation is a priority the owners are 100% behind.

I continually speak to fans at games, socially and within my role with the club and I understand their frustrations, each fan is not alone in their desire to see Oldham Athletic back were it belongs playing the top teams each week. Even though we all would like to see success tomorrow for the club, the board of directors at Oldham Athletic will not risk the long term future of the club to bring short term success.

My role as fans representative is to ensure that concerns, questions and suggestions expressed to Trust Oldham are taken to the club. The long term future of the club is always paramount to all decisions taken.

I will not for one minute think I can take every opinion of our fans to the boardroom, I am thankful I don’t have to do this due to the assistance of the senior officials of the club who regularly monitor the general feeling of the fan base through many ways, this includes visiting the fantastic fans messageboard www.owtb.co.uk which does a great job not only of bringing Latic fans together but raising much needed extra revenue for the club.

This year is an important year not only for the club but for each fan, we all have a part to play ensuring the club turn the corner and move forward. Not only is your voice needed on the terraces, fans  suggestions are imperative for the future projects of the club and your support is more valuable than ever.

I would like to place on record my thanks to the consistent work of my fellow Trust Directors. Without the effort shown by these people many successful events held over the last 2 years would not have taken place. A lot of time goes into organising Trust projects including the development of this new site and for that I thank them on behalf of OAFC, the fans and myself.

The next 18 months will be exciting, nerve racking, emotional and bring with it a new level of pride to be a Oldham Athletic fan, as ever, please feel free to contact me or any of my fellow directors if you wish to discuss any matters. Joining Trust Oldham has never been so easy and now would be an exciting time to join.
